Design and features 

Similar to the Tailgater Plus, the ION Block Rocker Plus comes as a black, sleek-looking sound-box. The Block Rocker Plus is also rectangular in shape but slightly larger in size. It measures 17.32 inches in height and 14.47 inches in width, but with its telescoping handle and built-in wheels – the Block Rocker Plus makes for an even more portable tailgate speaker than its counterpart.

Its rugged enclosure has not changed, but the Block Rocker Plus is a definite upgrade from the Tailgater with its convenient telescoping handle, wheels, and two side carrying handles. The Block Rocker Plus, on the other hand, will need to be charged after 35 hours. Given how long both these boxes can be used without charging, I think the difference is quite insignificant.

Conclusion 

If you are looking for an excellent tailgate speaker or an affordable and easy alternative to a PA system (and don’t want to compromise on sound quality!), the ION Audio Block Rocker Plus is the best option. The Block Rocker Plus does offer more than the Tailgater in more ways than sound quality. It has increased power and an easy carry-on function and is therefore way more easily manageable for only one person.

The Tailgater is a great option for a small event, there is no doubt about it. But
increase your budget with only a little less than 30 dollars and get literally
twice the power, in an even more user-friendly package.
